 | 'Hight? X Hight' by Kamino Ryu-Ya, translated by Rande who doesn't have a website, and usually translates foota stuff anyway I guess? Uglicus introduced me to Kamino Ryu-Ya a few weeks back, and aw man, she's pretty awesome (and pretty cute, yeah it matters maybe). This tank, the only one completely translated that I'm aware of, is loaded with cute kinky mostly romantic stories of drunken neighbours, blackmailing teachers, ex-girlfriends, and girlfriends' girlfriends who want a show. Two stories of unrequited love on the other side of the wall; one a generous three chapters, another (sadly single chapter) featuring psychically linked twins. Yes, automatic threesome. That one's my favourite, I think. Them boobies. Oh wow. Their eyes, of course, melt your heart but if them boobies do nothing for you lolicoms there's no hope for yeh. There weren't any chapters I didn't like. There is the incest, yeah... Some stuff doesn't look as consensual as it turns out it is. After you enjoy the fuck out of 'Hight? X Hight', keep an eye out for 'Mosaic Sanshimai'. This one looks to be one of my all-time favourites. There are two guys now translating it or something (I haven't finished the first guy's stuff yet), and the magazine scans they started with are pretty bad... I'm trying to wait for a re-edit. Trying.
Did mention I'm a fan of lady pornographers, right? Yeah? I don't know if that's sexist or just teh opposeht, I don't care. ♥

So the Kamino Ryu-Ya story Uglicus translated looks pretty damned awesome itself. However...
I did find some magazine scans of the story, but they are of pretty poor quality too. If any you guys can provide a nice scan of this story (from 'Ecchi Kanji'/'Lewd Feeling') I will put it in whatever queue position you like best.
The 'Ecchi Kanji' tank scans we have are about 30MB, total, whole tank. There are a bunch of 100MB files out there that were either filled with unrelated bitmaps or just these same shitty scans blown the fuck up. If whoever did this happens to be reading, sorry but fuck you, buddy. You are welcome to explain yourself, but wtf?
Was thinking, maybe we could take up a collection, commission a guy to scan it... The thought of nice, big, clean .pngs makes me weak in the spine... I have no fucking clue what people charge for that, beyond ten bucks to amazon. Paypal wouldn't reveal any personal information to you fellow miscreant perverts, or take issue with well-intentioned meandering in the grey area of copyright law with the noble goal of expanding the global audience for high-brow erotical smut, or shit, would it? I dunno dude...
Ass for the current project, it's pretty much done and looks pretty much phenomenal, I think. However...
Uglicus is mia atm. Haven't heard back from him re. all the stupid shit I was talking about while not finishing up the project, but I'd like to give him final say on a few things. Our mysterious other translator(s) as well, of course, gotta have consensus and shit.
He's got a few valid reasons/excuses to go awol if he so desires, probably busy with school or a busted internet, I 'aint too worried yet though I am a worrier by nature... I could start the next project on my own, though I'll be mostly gone for the next week or two myself.
Additionally, I asked him about maybe asking you guys if you wanted to help editing (was his idea in the first place), so if interested look forward to my asking that.
I am pretty sure Len from pant.su knows someone who lives in Japan and will do scans. If I remember correctly, you basically had to pay for the book itself, plus a fee. Try contacting him about it.

ReplyDeleteI remember seeing something about that there. Yeller, too, had a guy doing scans; don't recall if he was doing so for money (I think they bought their scanner a scanner :D).
Brought it up with the hopes someone would know some numbers offhand, and maybe so I wouldn't forget about it by the time I get around to that story. Though if I'm gonna, I oughtta get to it...

Kamina Ryu-ya is awesome. When I read the name, I thought that Ecchi Kanji was like some Japanese learning book with porn... I'd buy it..

Often wondered why there isn't a plethora of such things. Wouldn't even have to be hardcore, necessarily... Educational pornography, yes. This would be my business plan, had I the initiative or capital.
