'BukaBuka' by Araki Akira

This one goes out to all the coveralls overalls fetishists out there. Your persistence pays off today! Nice little story about a date to pick out some tableware, naturally leading to department store sex.

Content's pretty straightforward, I don't think anyone could take offence. Y'know, aside from the usual big one...
The guy's kinda of dick. More teasing than sadistic, he gets a spectacular line in there one page. I love it, I dunno.

Megaporn, Mediafire, Deadfrog.

Don't look so close at the tops of the pages. I redrew (well, had the gimp do it for me) one to four/five lines of pixels at the top of each page. I don't know if I should have, but it must be preferable to cropping/rotating/just leaving those streaks there...
Also looking for input on my placing of separate sentences in bubbles, two iffy examples right there in the sample page. Uglicus said he likes it, but I think I've gone a bit far in this one...

  1. Me in sidebar: 'Submitted. Uglicus called them 'coveralls'.'

Uglicus via email: 'wait... when did I do that? In the original comic they're "oobaaooru." I think you can guess which that equates to. I suppose it doesn't matter all that much either way, but I think overalls are more specifically the garment she is wearing (coverall(s) seems more general).'

    I don't know what the fuck I'm doing. : D

  2. Hmmm...this is just me...but I REALLY dislike the spacing (just from the sample page, I haven't opened the file yet). I prefer centered text, myself...

The way the sample looks, it reminds me of changing fonts in Word...

  3. Many thanks for this. And this is going to sound rather childish, but the way I remember the difference between overalls and coveralls is that "Overalls go over your clothing, but coveralls cover it all!". Stupid, but effective.

  4. @anon: You know, when I started putting in the text and saw it used 'overalls' I came up with that exact mnemonic. Put the matter out of mind as resolved, and preceded to use only 'coveralls' thereafter.

I am so glad this issue does not come up often.

@anon: I don't know what you mean about Word fonts, but I agree with the hate. There may be cases where this's called for, but I'll limit it's use now. For the best.

This is rooted back in 'Census', which used a lot of hearts as punctuation. First draft, I left the hearts at the bottom and without being fully aware of it jammed all the sentences together...

  6. overalls = win

question: does a human being exist with big enough balls to translate something by Machida Hiraku?

  7. Well, I suffer from a particular medical condition but can't translate shit unless it's written in High School French.

What's this stuff like? Mangaupdates has tags like 'drama' and 'psychological' which worry me, I am not feeling adventurous today.
