 | Two quick notes on two full-colour four page stories. First, Uglicus sent me a translation for Yui Haga's 'Petit Devil'. I could do this story in about half an hour, but these scans... Please, if you have some better scans of this gimmie. I've exhausted my usual research methods (pant.su, google, tineye) but you guys can help me out, yes? Shame to have her in this state. Edit: Don't go nuts with the searching or shit, but if you know where it's from or got better, let me know. Second, found some tank scans and a fourth page for that Toshiki Yui story. This is apparently the most popular page on the blog? Didn't set out to look for it, just dicking about on the internet. Also seems that whole tank has already been translated, but ah well. ...four posts today? And no new content? Really? |

ReplyDeletethe only thing in mugi mugi i suspect this one could come from is the comic angel halo vol 2 http://doujinshi.mugimugi.org/book/25254/ its from 2005 so i guess it might be there, i'll check what i can get on emule since i have the japanese names for the author and the comic, yes i did say emule since it can conect to japanese networks, all you need is the name of the author/manga in japanese characters in a worldwide search and trust me, you can get long lost shit there. anyway dont espect too much since petit devil seems really old

I already checked the Angel Halos, think he only did the covers. Shit, I was so sick when I went through those I can't remember a thing about them... This story wasn't in the files I got anyhow. Thanks for the effort nonetheless.

ReplyDeleteInteresting. The file I have is 557KB, so at the very least it's not that (or it's two copies of that, perhaps?). I've never used emule and p2ps fucking hate my connection, but I'll have to look into this.

DeleteThis is weird. Pages one and four of the files you found have different text but are otherwise nearly pixel-perfect matches. I can see little evidence of one being photo-shopped from the other, and I have seen a few in my time.
ReplyDeleteSet 'A' (filename '‚o‚d‚s‚h‚s ‚c‚d‚u‚h‚k') has a body-hair-like line in the first bubble that disappears midway through in set 'B' ('—c’p�—'). The reds and blues on the first and last pages of 'B' seem a bit more muted.
Most damning 'B's font colour is inconstant on the shared third page.
The last three pages Uglicus sent me are actually quite different; smaller, though the colours are brighter and they lack those stripes and checkers. I initially thought they were better but now I see there's a significant loss of detail most noticeable in the guy's pubes and no one wants that.
These pages are identical in content to 1B, 2A, 3A, and 4A; an independent scan of page 4A also supports my supposition of it's authenticity.
Uglicus I believe your first page to be counterfeit.
Being illiterate and ignorant of the message on these altered pages, I cannot guess at the culprit's motivations. I made this post as nerdy and dramatic as I possibly could; originally it contained the word 'Gentlemen' and hinted at dirty comics from an alternate universe.
why not translating both of them as alternate versions?
ReplyDeleteActually, I'm seeing three versions of this. The first (the one I got from a collection of images ages ago) and second are similar, but the second is different enough to make no mention of her being his sister. The third also has small changes to the Japanese, but they change how I translate other parts. It is possible the first version has pages from both the second and the third.
