 | Love Mega Man? Love Railgun? You'll probably love this too and surely must have known about it before me. 'To Aru Pantsu no Railgun' by Werk I don't know this developer, or the world of Japanese doujin games, but I think I do know a little something about what kicks ass. Here is a fine little Mega Man-style game consisting of a series of boss fights with some familiar characters from a Certain Scientific Railgun. The story is much better than it really needs to be; a lovely tale of love between friends, love between sisters, love between lovers, love of panty theft. Yes, there are far two few game centred around panty theft; indeed, this is the first I've seen where your level of missing panties directly affects your mobility. How far we have come since the days of the NES! Not to mention the beautiful sprite work here. I am especially fond of Saten's 'groper stance'. I did have some issues with sluggish cutscenes, and having grown up on Mega Man the game was a breeze but Misaka's not-being-Mega-Man made the controls a bit of an adjustment. Biggest problem with the game is just that I want more of it. Megaupload (.iso), Mediafire (English patch, source unknown) These are just the files I found on the web. Windows only, far as I know. Had to mount that .iso, guessed my way through the Japanese installation, patched, on Windows7 I had to set it to XP compatibility mode and 'disable desktop composition'. No joystick/controller support (that I know of), but JoyToKey's a pretty handy program. I stole Uiharu's undies ♥ |

You can trust Werk to produce some games that are quite fun. They did a whole series of Super Robot War style games for Type Moon called Battle Moon Wars.

ReplyDeleteLooking through to what stuff you had and I seen this. Looked interesting so I decided to try it. Turns out it hates me or something since doesn't wanna work. Oh well can't do anything about it.
ReplyDeleteFigured out how to get it to work. It's pretty fun and a little hard (Just played on easy so far) but it's just really short. Still fun though.
